Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 dried chipotle chile

To Prepare

  • In a small pot over medium heat, bring the sugar, water and chipotle to a boil. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then take off the heat. Pour into a heat-proof container and let cool.
  • Once cool, you may cover tightly and store in the refrigerator. Make it at least 48 hours ahead of time and if you can, a week ahead. It can store in the refrigerator for months. The more it sits, the more flavor it will have.

Hola Bregetta! I use this syrup to make a cocktail from Oaxaca, here is the recipe for you: http://patijinich.com/oaxacan-sour/ Also you can add it to your marinate for chicken or fish and it will make it really flavorful 😉

    Hi Pati
Love your show and the boys are just delicioso 😄. My question is about the simple syrup…when making ahead what happens if I leave chipotle chile in syrup until ready to use?

It will get more and more flavor the longer it sits. I hope you enjoy it Carla!
