Se usan frecuentemente en la cocina Mexicana para envolver y cocinar diferentes tipos de comida, como tamales, carne, pollo y pescado. Estas hojas son fuertes y a la vez maleables. Cocinar con ellas no solo concentra los sabores de los ingredientes envueltos, sino que tambi\u00e9n los impregna con un sabor fresco, verde y arom\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n<p>Era dif\u00edcil encontrar las hojas de pl\u00e1tano en los Estados Unidos cuando me mud\u00e9 aqu\u00ed hace m\u00e1s de doce a\u00f1os.
