Con frecuencia se usan para preparar agua de jamaica, paletas o gelatina, ya que estas flores secas les dan un color rojo fuerte a los l\u00edquidos.<\/p>\n<p>No son solamente flores de hibisco. Son \u201cHibiscus Sabdariffa\u201d, tambi\u00e9n conocidas como Roselle. En M\u00e9xico se llaman jamaica y son bien conocidas sus propiedades diur\u00e9ticas y digestivas, as\u00ed como sus niveles altos de vitamina C y otros minerales. Actualmente, es f\u00e1cil conseguirlas en muchas tiendas de Estados Unidos o en l\u00ednea. Se pueden agregar a muchos platillos para darles un sabor \u00e1cido, parecido a los ar\u00e1ndanos.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando era ni\u00f1a, me gustaba jugar con estas flores e imaginar que hac\u00eda pociones m\u00e1gicas con ellas en la cocina de mi familia. Ya soy adulta, pero sigo jugando con ellas en mi cocina.
