Son crujientes. Una vez que las rehidratas con agua para preparar agua fresca de lim\u00f3n con ch\u00eda, se convierten en una sustancia gelatinosa. Su nombre viene del N\u00e1huatl chian, que significa aceitoso.<\/p>\n<p>La <em>Salvia Hispanica<\/em> (su nombre cient\u00edfico) vienen de una planta floreciente de la familia de la menta. Algunos grupos modernos de New Age la llaman la \u201csemilla milagrosa.\u201d Son excelentes para la buena digesti\u00f3n y unos dicen que hasta para bajar de peso.<\/p>\n<p>En M\u00e9xico se ha usado desde hace siglos. Los Aztecas, aparte de comerla, la usaban para intercambiar bienes y durante rituales religiosos.<\/p>\n<p>Como pueden ver en las fotos, son hermosas.<\/p>\n<p>Son muy buena fuente de prote\u00edna y fibra. Molidas, se pueden usar para hornear pan, pasteles y galletas.
