Este a\u00f1o, planee el pastel de mi marido con la ayuda de mis tres hijos.<\/p>\n<p>La noche anterior, antes de dormirse, platicamos sobre eso. Ten\u00eda que ser algo espectacular y suave a la vez para cuando le diera la mordida (ese era el plan de los ni\u00f1os).<\/p>\n<p>Les cont\u00e9 historias de los pasteles de mi ni\u00f1ez, la mayor\u00eda de <em>Sanborns<\/em>, una cadena de tiendas que venden todo lo que te puedes imaginar: dvd\u00b4s, maquillaje, electr\u00f3nicos, equipaje, dulces, las mejores pasas y malvaviscos cubiertos de chocolate y juguetes. Tiene tambi\u00e9n restaurantes muy buenos donde sirven algunos de mis molletes favoritos y enchiladas. Tambi\u00e9n hay perfumer\u00eda y farmacia. Todo lo que puedas necesitar. Era, y tal vez lo sigue siendo, uno de los lugares m\u00e1s populares para comprar un pastel de cumplea\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Este es uno de los que m\u00e1s recuerdo: un par de capas de pastel de vainilla, con un relleno de merengue, mermelada de fresa y nueces, y el mismo merengue usado como bet\u00fan y muy decorado. Con ese pastel ten\u00edas la fiesta asegurada.<\/p>\n<p>Al d\u00eda siguiente nos pusimos a trabajar en la cocina. Necesitas dos ingredientes y menos de 5 minutos. Agrega el az\u00facar y bate hasta mezclar todo. A\u00f1ade las yemas una por una, batiendo despu\u00e9s de cada una. Reduce la velocidad a baja, a\u00f1ade la harina con el polvo para hornear por partes, alternando con la leche. Vierte la mitad de esta mezcla en cada molde.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-9730-step-0-2\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Enjuaga la batidora. Bate las claras hasta que se formen ondas firmes, no duras. Agrega el az\u00facar y mezcla durante un minuto, hasta incorporarla bien. Pon el merengue encima de la mezcla en cada molde, y exti\u00e9ndelo con una esp\u00e1tula. Espolvorea la mitad de las nueces encima de cada merengue. Pon los moldes en el horno.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-9730-step-0-3\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Hornea durante 25 minutos, hasta que el pastel est\u00e9 cocido pero suave y el merengue est\u00e9 dorado por fuera. Ponle mermelada de fresa encima. Saca el otro pastel del molde, quita el papel encerado y ponlo encima del otro pasteL.
