Contramar is known to be the city\u2019s most buzzing spot for locals and foreigners alike. Andr\u00e9s Barrag\u00e1n, chef of Contramar, met Gabriela at the very beginning, almost 20 years ago. Andr\u00e9s, originally from Puebla, developed his cooking skills with Gaby and continued to improve them on his own. Tuna tostadas, fresh clam ceviche, <em>pescado a la talla<\/em> and the tuna carnitas are some favorites.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-20834\" src=\"https:\/\/patijinich.com\/pati_2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/contramar-2-733x1024.jpg\" alt=\"tuna ceviche, tuna tostadas, and tun carnitas at Contramar\" width=\"640\" height=\"894\" srcset=\"https:\/\/patijinich.com\/pati_2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/contramar-2-733x1024.jpg 733w, https:\/\/patijinich.com\/pati_2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/contramar-2-215x300.jpg 215w, https:\/\/patijinich.com\/pati_2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/contramar-2-768x1073.jpg 768w, https:\/\/patijinich.com\/pati_2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/contramar-2-150x210.jpg 150w, https:\/\/patijinich.com\/pati_2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/contramar-2-600x839.jpg 600w, https:\/\/patijinich.com\/pati_2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/contramar-2.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Contramar\u2019s tuna carnitas are made using the fatty part of the tuna, which is chopped then fried until crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. After frying, the meat is served with chunky guacamole, refried beans and fresh tortillas made with heirloom corn from Tepoztlan.
