    Pati,
Night 2 of your amazing Oaxaca sours. I love the smokiness, but if it is too much, just add an extra oz. Of pineapple juice to soften.
    Our new favorite cocktails.

    Hi Pati,
This was amazing. My Mom does not drink but once a year she will drink this on Mother’s Day. I made it both with mezcal and with tequila. She liked the tequila best. I liked the mezcal but Mom gets to choose. Thank you for making something she likes. 🙂

Pati, I am your biggest fan, especially since I got to visit Oaxaca in February. Next Saturday, I am making your Oaxacan chicken, Rick Bayless’s Yucatan Cochinita Pibil and your Mezcal sours with the mezcal I brought all the way to Montana. Luckily I was able to find a dried Chipotle chili at Lucky’s Market. But how did you make the simple syrup? I know you didn’t leave the chili in the sugar water very long, but don’t remember how long.

Can’t wait for my Cinco de Mayo party on Saturday with your chicken and drinks.
