I would like to buy your cook book is anyway that I could see inside the books recipes
Barbara, if you check them out in Amazon, it lets you take a peek at the Contents, a few pages and the Index 🙂
What could I use instead of mango due to allergies.
You can try with peaches, plums or pineapple 🙂
I saw the episode again where you made this! I am going to try this next week:) Thank you, Pati, for making everything look amazing!
And thanks to you for giving this recipe a chance Kim!

All the recipes look good Pati!!!
Just watch on 7/10/22 and went and bought everything and I’ve got a new alternative to good old lettuce and tomatoes!!! Thank you so much for this!!! It is very very refreshing!!!
So happy you liked it Joy!
I absolutely love this salad and have adapted it to other fruits such as pineapple and strawberries and have ramped up the heat by going to hotter peppers. It is even better the next day. That is if we can manage to have leftovers.
Hahaha, sometimes leftovers are just a dream, right? So glad you made your own version of this salad and thanks for sharing it Ann 🙂

Today I’m going to make blue corn pupusas stuffed with cheese and braised pork and this salad. I don’t have tomatillos but will use nopalitos instead. I’m already drooling!
Sounds like a great sub to me Pilar, hope you liked it!

Thanks so much Ron for tuning in, glad you have been enjoying the show and trying out some recipes 😉
I’m a plant-based eater and ADORE Pati’s show. My husband jokes that if something happened to me, he would have to marry Pati. This recipe made 3-4 servings when served as a whole meal. Wowza. Keep the salads and plant-only dishes coming!
Thanks so much Barbara! Love and hugs to you and your husband 🙂
I’m on my way to purchase all the ingredients needed for this now! Pati thank you for your great recipes…enjoy you, your show your lovely family enjoying the tableside food you prepare! Handsome boys.
Thanks for so much kindness Alice, you are way too sweet! Enjoy the salad 😉
I made this salad for dinner and it was wonderful! I actually had the leftovers for my lunch the next day! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. We really enjoyed it, even my eight year old granddaughter! I really enjoy watching your show and reading your newsletter. I lived in New Mexico and Arizona the first part of my life and I love Mexican food. I have learned a lot of helpful information from you. Thanks!!
Thanks for being so kind Debbie, love to read you liked this salad. Un abrazo to you and your granddaughter!
Pati, reallylook forward to your show each week and get a kick out of seeing your family get so involved with preparing and especially enjoying the food. The boys are great, you and your hubby must be proud!
We are! Thanks so much for the super kind words Andrew, un abrazo 🙂
Today was the first time I saw your show. Even though I’m on a special fasting diet now (no meat, no dairy), I watched the show because we love Mexican food at our house. I was thrilled to see this Veggie and Fruit salad that I CAN have during my fast. I have ordered the ingredients for my grocery delivery tomorrow and I can’t wait to make this for dinner. Thanks for making my day!
I will be searching out and viewing more of your shows from now on.
So glad you found something you can eat Brenda, good luck with your fasting!
I’m new at cooking and saw your show with this mango salad. My mouth was watering imagining the taste of the combination of lime juice, mango, jalapeño and other ingredients! I told myself “you can do this”! I follow your recipe and it was better than I expected! My wife was surprised about “my skills” and now expects new surprises from me!
The salad by itself was amazing and our main dish was flank steak tacos. I decided to add some of the salad to one of the tacos, instead of all the other ingredients (oregano, salsa, lettuce, tomato, cream) and WOW! The flavor of the tacos was now out of this world! Juicy, spicy, sweet, sour, etc!
I am glad I found your show and now getting familiar with your other recipes. I can’t wait to try a few of them.
Muchas gracias y vaya con Dios!
Muchas gracias a ti Enrique! Keep on cooking and have lots of fun 😉
This salad is incredible. I saw it on your show and was so intrigued by the combination of ingredients. It was sweet, salty, spicy, tangy. Just amazing. I wish I could post the photo I took because it was beautiful, too.
Great job Frances! You can send you photo to email@example.com, I would love to see your salad 😉
I saw your show and was really intrigued by the salad. I remember saying to myself I can do this! So I did. Unfortunately I was unable to find tomatillos anywhere in Ontario or Quebec (Canada). I did however find some tomatillos salsa which I substituted for the lack of tomatillos. I did find some tomatillos plants which I bought and hope to try for real in July, when they are ripe. I tried very hard to be true to your recipe except for that part. Nonetheless it turned out very well. I like spicey a lot, but I think I will reduce the next salad I make with maybe only 1 1/2 jalapeños instead of 2. All this to say you have me as a fan from here on in.
I may even be bold enough to try some of your other recipes in the near future.Lol!
Hi Wolfe, thanks so much for sharing your story with me. I really hope your tomatillo plants give you tons in the summer so you can go ahead and try many of the recipes here on the website. Have fun 😉
We saw your show last night and tried it tonight. Multiple raves and compliments for your salad. We are looking forward to summer coming and enjoying it often.
Thanks so much John for tuning in and for giving this salad a chance, isn’t it super refreshing and sweet?
This looks so interesting but is there something that is less spicy than the jalapeno? I have very wimpy family but would still love to make this….any suggestions for a chili or pepper with less heat?
Hey Kelly, thanks for your question. In fact, jalapenos are some of the milder chilies out there. To make sure they do not have any heat but still keep all their flavor, remove all seeds and veins and just stay with the flesh. I promise you this salad is not spicy at all 🙂
Thank you so much for this wonderful Mango, Tomato, salad I can’t wait to do it. Everything is so awesome. I will definitely do it. I just love your show, I hope you will continue to be on the air for a long time. May God bless you and love you.
Thank you so much for watching! I hope you make the salad!
Can I use something other than tomatillo? I cannot find them in Canada
Oh, I’m sorry you can’t find them. You can use more tomatoes and mango…the salad won’t have the same bite, but will still be great, Tina.
Wrote down recipe, will try without haste. Great healthy eating.
