Where do I find the recipe for Horchata?
It is linked in this recipe Jenn, but here you have it as well, enjoy! https://patijinich.com/homemade-horchata/
Love, love, love, love everything you do. I made my first Cochinta Pibil and Chilorio after watching your travels through Mexico. Maybe we will cross paths in Tucson at Barrio Charros some day? Keep doing what you’re doing 🤙🏽🌵🤙🏽
So glad you made Cochinita and Chilorio, yummy! Thanks for the kind words 😉
I am from the Midwest and always look for horchata when I go out for Mexican food. I think it might be a cure for a hangover and I had some experience with this I’m college. 🍺
🙂 🙂 so glad it helps!

Hi Pati,
I’m lactose and I don’t enjoy the flavor of lactose-free milk. Would it be okay to use coconut or almond milk to substitute for cows milk. What do you recommend! Thanks!
Absolutely Gris, I would go for almond milk, but coconut is good as well 😉
Dear Pati,
I want to try making these for my family tomorrow! We are having very warm winter days here in Los Angeles and this drink looks like the perfect match for them! Thank you for this recipes, I love them all.
Hola Siloe, hope you made the horchata and the family liked it 😉
What’s horchata?
Horchata is a refreshing drink made out or rice and cinnamon, here is the original recipe for you Marcie: https://patijinich.com/homemade-horchata/
Patti,
Saw this episode last night on PBS. Love your cooking show.
I have a question, or Two. As you blend the ingredients, also blend the rice?
And if is too thick do we add more milk?
Looking forward to your reply,
Thank you
A fiel Fan!
Yes you blend it altogether, Patricia. Then you strain it into a pitcher. It shouldn’t be too thick after you strain it, but you can add milk to thin it out.
